Very tiny, very old, very rare and absolutely stunning! These teeny-tiny shell beads hail from Tasmania and are a traditional bead of the Aboriginal people. These ones are over 100 years old and are a stunning iridescent green which is their "natural" color achieved through a process of boiling and treating the shells with acid to remove the outer coating. Due to their age and delicacy, these beads are best used in "lower impact" beadwork such as embroidery, necklaces, earring or sculpture where they are less likely to bump up against hard surfaces. They measure 6-7mm in length and there are 30 of them in the jar.
